Hybrid Decon Train-the-Trainer
Who Should Attend: HazMat Team members, First Responders (Fire, LE, EMS), Healthcare Managers, Emergency Managers, and Training Officials
Prerequisites: Haz Mat Operations Level or Higher and a US Citizen (Email training@firstlinetech.com if you have eligibility questions)
Participants will be instructed over a two-day period, in the principles and operational application of Hybrid Decontamination using FiberTect and Dahlgren Decon systems. Effectiveness against Synthetic Opioids, CWA’s, BWA’s, TIC/TIM’s, and Emerging Threats will be discussed in depth. The Decon Field Guide App will be introduced, as well as instruction on dilution ratios, dwell times, and contraindications for use. Other topics discussed will include cold weather decon, post-fire decon, disinfection, and low-footprint decon. Recommended SOP’s will be presented, as well as integration of hybrid decon into existing SOPs and agency mandated procedures. Participants will demonstrate their knowledge during extensive practical exercises and teach-back sessions.
Upon successful completion of the course, each student will be provided with a template lesson plan, presentation, course certificate and access to the Decon Field Guide to enable them to conduct training at their agency.
