In this hybrid online and in-person course, learners will receive OSHA First Receiver compliant training on the latest best practices in managing a contaminated casualty in a hospital setting. Learners will know standard setting and role allocation of an incident management system while understanding how to integrate these hospital incident command systems into their organizational framework. Learners will also be educated on how to apply incident management tools and techniques during response with safe and effective strategies. Learners are further educated on medical and safety hazards related to various contaminated victim types (adults, children, infants, animals, sensitive equipment, personal items etc.) individually or during an MCI disaster. Additionally, learners will assess how prepared their current medical/hospital organization might be for these events. This curriculum focuses on a full picture of preparation, implementation, and correct application of decontamination to aid first receivers in reliable preparedness during unpredictable situations.
