Clan Lab Recertification Course

The Clandestine Laboratory Safety Training Course is an intensive program designed to prepare law enforcement officers and support personnel to safely and effectively operate in environments where illegal drug laboratories are present. These sites pose unique hazards, including toxic chemicals, explosive materials, and unpredictable conditions that require specialized knowledge and strict safety protocols.

This course provides the same high standards of instruction and practical application in a format accessible to agencies across the country. The curriculum fully meets OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (HAZWOPER) requirements, ensuring participants are trained to nationally recognized safety standards.

Course Objectives:

• Understand the chemical and physical hazards associated with clandestine drug labs
• Apply OSHA-compliant safety and health protocols in hazardous environments
• Properly select and use PPE and respiratory protection in lab settings
• Conduct safe scene entry, evidence handling, and site remediation coordination
• Respond to emergencies, including fire, explosion, and contamination events
• Participate in hands-on exercises that reinforce classroom instruction with real-world scenarios

By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and confidence to recognize clandestine laboratory hazards, implement protective measures, and operate safely within multi-agency response efforts. This training equips agencies with a critical capability to protect personnel, safeguard communities, and meet regulatory requirements when confronting the challenges of illicit drug production sites.
