Course Description: This intensive two-day advanced course prepares experienced HAZMAT and medical responders to operate at a high level of proficiency during complex chemical, toxic industrial, and CBRN incidents where medical urgency and contamination risk are tightly coupled. Building on HAZWOPER technician principles, AHLS, and advanced NAEMT disaster and tactical medical doctrine, the course delivers a deep, zone-based framework for integrating medical decision-making, decontamination strategy, and incident command considerations across prolonged and high-consequence operations.

Participants examine advanced hot, warm, and cold zone medical operations; detailed dry and hybrid decontamination planning; pediatric and special population management; responder safety and exposure control; and post-decontamination medical reassessment and transport coordination. Through expanded case studies, facilitated problem-solving, and scenario-driven application, students learn to anticipate operational friction points, manage competing priorities between rescue, decontamination, and care, and support command-level decision-making. The course is designed to produce confident, doctrine-aligned leaders capable of safely integrating medical operations into sustained HAZMAT and CBRN responses.
