This course was built in response to hospitals that want focused, in-person training on Hybrid Decontamination, whether they are already using these methods or actively evaluating them for future implementation. This is an 8-hour, in-person course that blends classroom instruction with hands-on practical training. It is the only Hospital First Receiver course that incorporates modern, evidence-backed decontamination practices recommended by HHS BARDA/ASPR and other federal partners.

The course covers dry and hybrid decontamination concepts, the Triple Protocol and when to implement it, decontamination decision-making tools, and current, relevant threat information. Additional topics include proper selection and use of Level C PPE, technical decontamination of First Receivers, mass decontamination operations, and considerations for victims with special needs.

The course is fully compliant with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and applicable Joint Commission standards. Class size is limited to 20 participants to support meaningful hands-on instruction and discussion.

This course is intended for hospitals that want practical, realistic training aligned with today’s evolving decontamination guidance, not legacy, water-only approaches.
