How does it work?
PhaseCore Horse Boots are placed on the backside of the leg where the horse’s muscles and tendons are located. It features a three layer designed to apply pressure while retaining the cooling effect and keeping out moisture. A neoprene boot is fitted with 4 mesh pockets that allow air to circulate around the PhaseCore elements. PhaseCore 24 elements are heat-activated at 75.2°F and PhaseCore 7 at 44.6°F. When the muscle temperature rises above this point, the element begins to absorb heat energy and transforms from a solid to a liquid. PhaseCore elements will remain at their activation point as the heat energy is absorbed and stored. The rate of cooling will vary according to physical activity, body type, and the environmental conditions.

Is it Effective?
PhaseCore elements recharge and return to their solid state when the ambient temperature drops below the activation point. PhaseCore 7 requires a refrigerator, freezer, or ice water to properly recharge while PhaseCore 24 can recharge and operate at room temperature without batteries, ice, refrigeration or air pumps. When the ambient temperature around the PhaseCore element cools, the stored heat energy is discharged and the element returns to a solid state. It is simple, easy, safe and reusable. PhaseCore elements area reusable with have a 10 year or 7,000 cycle life.

How does it recharge?
PhaseCore uses cold therapy to reduce blood flow to injured areas to minimize swelling, inflammation, dissipate heat and alleviate pain. PhaseCore 7 is most effective at providing a rapid and intensive cooling effect for 1 hour to mitigate sprains or other injury occurs that requires instant cooling. The 2-4 hour cooling effect provided by PhaseCore 24 helps to prevent injury and promotes faster recovery after exercise. Both can be used overnight and during transport.
