The (Bus Stretcher Conversion Kit) from First Line Technology is an effective and efficient solution for mass evacuation and transport of special needs patients, casualties, and others who require non-ambulatory transport. Quickly and easily retrofit buses into mass casualty transport vehicles. With only 1 palletized Kit (2 Frames), convert an existing passenger bus into an Ambulance Bus capable of safely transporting 18 stretchers and IVs along with 6 operators and their medical support equipment. The ruggedized and palletized crate allows for quick and simple logistics for pre-positioning and emergency response. The kit is all-inclusive requiring no additional tools for assembly.

Katrina After Action Report - Hospital Evacuations
The City of New Orleans was unable to evacuate their walking population, let alone those requiring special assistance. Many cities that were able to evacuate before the hurricane were ineffective at evacuating their own hospitals. Every hospital and agency faced the same problem - the inability to safely transport large numbers of stable patients requiring stretchers and IV’s. The AmbuBus from First Line Technology makes mass evacuation of stretchered persons efficient, effective, affordable, and simple.

Ambulance Limitations
Ambulances are expensive assets that are filled with specialized equipment capable of transporting only two patients at a time. For mass casualty incidents, an ambulance is an ineffective transportation vehicle for patients and casualties. The AmbuBus can make any transport bus into a mass casualty transport vehicle.

Bus Availability
During Katrina dozens of buses sat idle in parking lots. Regardless of city size, there are always a fleet of buses available for public transportation. How the city, county or state utilizes these assets is determined by disaster plans. With the AmbuBus, we expand the capabilities of existing transit systems for mass casualty transport and evacuation capabilities.
