Mobile Mass Decontamination Unit (MMDU)
Self Contained, Portable Decontamination Shower System

The development of the SWEDE Mobile Mass Decontamination Unit (MMDU) began in 1991 with the cooperation of doctors, nurses, paramedics and ambulance personnel in civilian, government and military agencies. The design includes many features for safety, comfort, and protection for emergency responders and casualties. In its years of existence and re-development, hundreds of MMDU have been fielded by agencies around the world, with the original units still deployed in the field. The effective decontamination procedures, policies, and protocols used in the MMDU have been adopted by the World Health Organization among others. The MMDU comes standard with all the equipment necessary to operate ambulatory and non-ambulatory decontamination in all weather conditions.

Expandability
The SWEDE MMDU is easily expandable in the field to supply body temperature water through auxiliary water outputs to additional tent facilities.

All-Hazards Functionality
The SWEDE MMDU is a self contained unit that can be used for a variety of applications including field command center, triage, responder rehabilitation, sleeping quarters, checkpoints, casualty clearing station, first aid, hospitality suite and any other instance that requires an enclosed shelter with environmental control, electricity, and lighting.

Extreme Weather Design
Disasters and acts of terrorism can occur in any weather condition. The MMDU is designed to be easily stored and transported in all weather conditions. The cold weather heating system design features an anti-freezing drainage system with glycol to ensure proper functionality and safe storage in sub-freezing conditions. The AL-KO chassis, dual all weather tires, and surge brake system make it easy for a sports utility vehicle (SUVs), ambulance, bus, fire truck, or other tow vehicle to maneuver in extreme weather conditions including snow, ice or rain.
