Protection factor testing was conducted by the U.S. Army and completed in accordance with NIOSH Laboratory Respiration Protection Level (LRPL) test protocol at the Edgewood Chemical Biological Center in Edgewood, MD. Results demonstrate that the SCape CBRN³° provides extremely high levels of protection.
NIOSH-approved as a 30-minute General Category Escape Mask under the standard for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Air-Purifying Escape Respirators (Sept. 30, 2003). NIOSH Approval Number TC-14G-0277.
The SCape CBRN³° System is one size fits most and has been designed to fit users with neck circumferences from 12″ (30cm) to 17¾” (45.1 cm) and a maximum head circumference of 26″ (66cm).
The SCape CBRN³° is the only NIOSH-approved 30 minute CBRN Escape Hood. When the sealed case is opened, the blower automatically starts and the indicator light confirms the unit is working properly. The quiet 65 liter per minute (LPM) blower pulls in filtered air and reduces the physiological burden on the user. The comfortable neck dam prevents air leakage and the integral exhaust valve regulates and maintains the positive pressure inside the hood. It normally takes fewer than 10 seconds to put on.
Yes. The product is specifically designed to seal around the neck, providing excellent protection for individuals with beards and facial hair. And, unlike most face seal masks, the SCape CBRN³° System works with standard eyeglasses.
Yes. Unlike hoods with nosecups or mouthpieces, the wearer can freely talk – even on a cell phone – in the SCape CBRN³° hood, due to the low-noise blower.
The military-grade filter canister comes attached to the clear hood in a sealed case, which has a five year shelf life.
